ANU School of Art graduate wins Australasian Student Design award

The Textiles Workshop at the ANU School of Art graduate, Megan Camp, was awarded second prize in the Textile Design category of the Design Institute of Australia’s Australasian Student Design Award 2010.
The awards are now in their 15th year and recognise excellence in design and sustainable practices by emerging designers.
The work of winners and finalists were on display at the recent DesignEx trade show in Sydney and will also be on display at the new DIA Design Gallery in Melbourne from the 13th May as part of the exhibit ‘Tomorrow’s Design Today’.

Megan follows in the footsteps of recent textile graduates, Deirdre Kelaher, Megan Jackson and Amy Kerr, who were all finalists in the Design Institute of Australia’s Graduate of the Year Awards - Textile Design category. Deirdre was awarded 3rd place in 2010, Megan was awarded 2nd place and the ‘Best Use of Colour Award’ in 2009 whilst Amy was awarded 2nd place in 2008.
